2-DAY AQUAPONICS DESIGN + BUILD INTENSIVE
SAT, OCTOBER 7, 2023 AND SUN, OCTOBER 8, 2023 (12 - 3:00PM)
This is a 2-day intensive weekend workshop for individuals interested in learning to design and build their own aquaponics system. The workshop will review the fundamental basics of aquaponics as well as cover design basics and hardware components necessary for healthy fish and plants.
Participants will leave the workshop with the ability to design and build a simple modular aquaponics system created for growing a wide diversity of plants, which is a low-cost and low-maintenance way to garden.
Particular focus will be placed on designing a system that is easily replicable, uses minimal resources, and promotes the health of fish and plants.
Day 1: Formal Lecture (3h)
Basics of Aquaponics
Exploration of Aquaponics Hardware
In-depth analysis of the 3 different Aquaponics Systems on the Farm
Day 2: Hands-On Group Activity (3h)
Design and Construction of 2 different aquaponics systems
Consultation for participants with existing designs and/or materials for a small-scale system
